Recently, the topic of responsible consumption has been very frequent on our blog - we talk about how to impress small changes in the environment into our everyday life, but we also try to show that even the smallest step in this regard matters. Today we will discuss the topic of zero waste - we will explain what it is, what are its main differences from the idea of less waste and we will answer the question whether zero waste is possible in fashion. We will also show what we do at ANSIN to be a more environmentally friendly brand!

Zero waste - what does it actually mean?
Zero waste (also known as no waste) literally translated from the English language means "without rubbish" or "zero waste". In practice, zero waste living is related to the 5R principles through responsible consumption or, for example, reusing as many products as possible. Interestingly, this is not a new concept! The term zero waste was first used by an American chemist in the 1970s in the context of the production system. Currently, we also use zero waste in the context of changes in society, i.e. each of us. We can implement many of them in our lives in a really simple way and such changes globally have a powerful effect. When it comes to the difference between less waste and zero waste - less waste is a less restrictive philosophy. It gives permission for mistakes and small deviations, and time to make changes in small steps. The latter philosophy has been close to us at ANSIN for a long time!
